Victoria “Cookie” Brunetti, a lifelong Harrison resident, passed away peacefully at home at age 87 after a long illness. Victoria was born in Harrison to the late Jack and Rose Bisceglia. She graduated from Parsons Memorial Elementary School and Harrison High School “Class of 43”. She also graduated from Washington School for Secretaries and went on to work as an executive secretary for the public relations firm Robbing, Barber & Bahr in NYC and later for Joseph Bisceglia & Sons. She married Rudolph Brunetti in 1954 and had five daughters.
Cookie was above all a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Her life centered around helping others, entertaining, cooking and praying for her large family. She was happiest preparing Sunday dinner, attending her grandchildren’s musical and sporting events and going to mass every day at St Gregory the Great, where she was a lifelong parishioner. She is survived by her devoted husband of 59 years Rudy, her cherished children Roseann Fiore, LuAnn (Peter) Tranquillo, Mariann (Jim) Miceli, Joanne (Bert) Gambacorta and Rita Ann (Rob) Contrata. She also leaves behind her 14 adoring grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, loving sister Rita, sister in law Eileen Bisceglia, brother in-law Joseph Brunetti and many loving nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers Dr. Joseph Bisceglia and Robert Bisceglia, sister in-law Aki Bisceglia, brother in-law Sal Brunetti and grandson Peter Tranquillo. The family would like to extend a special thank you to all of her caregivers through the years who treated our mother like their own mother’s, especially Julia Moreno. Cookie will be missed by all of us forever!
Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 4-8pm at COXE & GRAZIANO FUNERAL HOME 767 E. Boston Post Rd. Mamaroneck 914-698-5968. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10am at St Gregory the Great R.C. Church. Followed by interment at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Rye Brook. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Victoria’s name to Palliative care of Westchester.
