Mildred Marie Diefenbach, 98, former resident of Harrison and Brewster, passed away, after a long illness, on September 23, 2014. Mildred was born in Harrison to Anthony and Adeline Capio. She graduated from Harrison High School and wa married in 1939 to Raymond Diefenbach, who predeceased her in 1999. Mildred worked briefly in the Harrison Town Offices. She had a very successful and long-lasting career as a wife, mother and homemaker. She had many talents – cooking, baking, knitting, sewing and and gardening. She was known best for her talent as a musician, though. Mildred played the piano and organ beautifully, and spent many happy hours “jamming” with her relatives at family gatherings. She as a kind and caring person who will be greatly missed by he loving daughter and son-in-law, Robert & Margaret Diefenbach, her 6 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Mildred is also survived by three sisters, Alice O’Connor, Marion Day and Anne Fraioli Her dear sister, Evelyn, predeceased her in 2013.
