Anthony Thomas McAndrews Jr., 72, of Mamaroneck, NY died peacefully in his sleep on Sunday, September 28, 2014 after living with Parkinson’s for 12 years. “Tony Mac” was born the New Year’s Baby of 1942 in Parkchester, NY to the late Anthony Thomas McAndrews Sr. and Harriet McAndrews. He is survived by wife of 37 years, Maria, brothers, Phil and Larry, and children Dawn, Tracy, Stacy, and Mark, and preceded by his sister Barbara McAndrews Santucci. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, Max, Christopher, Vanessa, Samantha, Michael, Ewan, Brandon, Connor, and Casey. Tony graduated from Archbishop Stepinac High School in 1960 and, after serving as a U.S. Army Ranger from 1960 to 1962, worked as a UPS driver in Mamaroneck for 32 years until his retirement in 1998. He is perhaps best remembered as Santa Claus stationed outside the Nasks’ home for more than 30 years. He lived for the Giants, the Yankees, making others happy, and providing for his family. His deep blue eyes and infectious smile will be greatly missed by family and friends.
