Morris Goldsmith

Morris Goldsmith, a longtime resident of Rye Brook, died peacefully on November 13, 2014 at age 93. In his early years in Stamford, CT, Morris worked as a sheet metal worker; a trade that led him to inventing “Silent Duct” which continues to be used in residential and commercial HVAC systems today. Morris continued to invent and patent products throughout his life and also developed and built tooling for various industrial companies. He was also in the restaurant business and a commercial real estate investor and broker for many years. His ingenuity and creative thinking will be his lasting legacy. Morris was predeceased by his wife, Bess (Westerman) Goldsmith. He is survived by his daughter, Nancy (Eli) Einbinder; his son, David (Jenny) Goldsmith; four grandchildren, Harry Einbinder, Eddie Einbinder, Gregory Goldsmith and Emma Goldsmith; his sister, Ruth Fuhrer; and several cousins, nieces, nephews and close friends. A gravesite funeral service will be held at the Riversville Cemetery, in Glenville, CT on Sunday, November 16th at 12pm.
