George Allen Bleakley passed away September 23, 2012 at age 85. He was a longtime resident of Massapequa, New York and more recently the Sarah Neuman Center in Mamaroneck, New York. Born in Manhattan on March 29, 1927 to the late Albert and Clara Bleakley, George grew up in Freeport, New York. He worked for Grumman Aerospace in Bethpage for over forty years, helping assemble American fighter aircraft and the Apollo lunar modules. He was a member of the Order of Odd Fellows and an avid fan and collector of the music of Glenn Miller and other Big Bands. Survived by his beloved daughter, Karen, loving son-in-law Jeffrey and his devoted sister-in-law Helen. Dear Papa to his grandchildren, Alexandra and Quinn. George was predeceased by his wife of nearly fifty two years, Olga (Hoda) and his sister, Doris. Visitation Wednesday from 4-8pm at COXE & GRAZIANO FUNERAL HOME, 767 E.
