Augustine “Augie” Aloia, Sr. a lifelong Mamaroneck resident, passed away on February 11, 2014 surrounded by his loving family. He was 92. Born in Mamaroneck to Michael & Genoueffa Aloia. Augie proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII participating in several major campaigns in Africa, Italy and other parts of Europe. He worked for the Village of Mamaroneck as a foreman for many years and was an usher and lifelong parishoner of St. Vito’s Church. He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 59 years Marian in 2009. Devoted father of Augustine, Jr. (wife Kathie), Ann Marie Aloia and Kathy Hanly (husband Peter) cherised grandfather of Brian & Kelly Hanly and Courtney, Kevin and Dennis Aloia. Marianna was a lifelong parishioner of St. Vito’s Church where she attended mass and prayed the rosaries daily. She enjoyed cooking for her family and was known for her fabulous meals.
