Mario Aiello

Mario Aiello of New Rochelle, sadly passed away on January 12, 2014 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was 83. Born in Laurignano, Cosenza, Italy to Frank & Gelsomina Aiello. Mario proudly served his country in the US Marine Corp from 1951 – 52’. He worked at Pepsi Cola for 39 years as a route salesman. Beloved husband of Gloria (nee Rossignuolo). They were married for 59 wonderful years. Devoted father to George Aiello, Joni and her husband Ed Tangredi, cherished grandfather of Mario, Frankie & Nicole Aiello and Gianna Rose Tangredi, he is also survived by his sisters in law Ida & Maria Aiello, brother in law Pat & Adelaide Rossignuolo and many loving nieces, nephews cousins & friends. He was predeceased by his loving brothers Dominick and Charlie Aiello.
To honor his life, Mario’s family & friends will gather on Wednesday from 2 – 4pm & 7 – 9 pm at COXE & GRAZIANO FUNERAL HOME 767 E. Boston Post Rd. Mamaroneck, NY A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 10:30am at Holy Name of Jesus R.C. Church followed by entombment at Ferncliff Cemetery.

Margaret Mary Wightwick

Margaret Mary Wightwick of Rye Brook formerly of Mamaroneck died January 12, 2014 at age 72. She was a graduate of St. Helena High School and St. Vincent’s Hospital School of Nursing. Margaret became head nurse of ob/gyn at St. Vincent’s Hospital in New York City. Beloved wife of the late William Wightwick (d.2002). She is survived by several cousins. To honor her life, Margaret’s family and friends will gather Wednesday morning from 9 a.m. at COXE & GRAZIANO FUNERAL HOME 767 East Boston Post Rd. Mamaroneck, NY. A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday 11 a.m. at Most Holy Trinity R.C. Church followed by interment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Ruth G. Dworkin, age 89, born in Brooklyn, NY died on Friday January 3, 2014, after bravely fighting cancer for five years. Ruth was predeceased by her husband, Lawrence, and their daughter Susan Levering. She is survived by her daughter Nancy D. Miller (Jerry Miller), son Greg (Denise Kaiser), son-in-law Les Baltimore, and grandchildren Lisa and Geordana Weber, Beth and Sam Baltimore, and Larry and Stephen Dworkin. Ruth’s contributions and awards for her work in the labor movement spanned over five decades, as a Yonkers teacher in PS 32, Yonkers Federation of Teachers Building Rep, Elementary Vice President, the first YFT Staff Director, Grievance Co-Chair, President of Retiree Council 15-16, NYSUT Board Member and the YFT and the Westchester/Putnam Retirees newsletter editor. Ruth is remembered for fierce contract negotiating and for cultivating union leaders through her mentorship. Ruth adored travel, Broadway theater, the ballet, her family and union friends. Our hearts swell with grief, pride and love for our beautiful matriarch. Services will be held at 12:30 pm on Sunday January 5, 2014 at Zion Memorial Chapel 785 E. Boston Post Road, Mamaroneck, NY. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to: VISIONS/Services for the Blind and Visually Impaired, the Susan Levering Social Justice Endowment at Adelphi University, or the American Lung Association.

Norbert “BUSTER” Bouchard, of New Rochelle, formerly of Larchmont,passed away January 30, 2014 at age 72. Born February 26, 1941 to Andre & Ann Bouchard. Buster worked as an operating superintendant for Westchester County in Rye Playland. He proudly served his country in the US Navy. Beloved husband of Linda (Rasmussen). In addition to his wife he is survived by his loving children, Donald Bouchard, David Bouchard, Renee Romanelli (Damon) and Denise Gonzalez (Ruben), cherished grandchildren Kayla & Karissa Romanelli, dear brothers, Raymond, Andre & Donald Bouchard, his aunt Teresa Speziale and many cousins and lifelong friends.

Philip Frank Wagner Sr. a lifelong Mamaroneck resident died January 4, 2014 at age 89. Mr. Wagner was a veteran of WWII where he served as an army medic. Later he worked as a driver for Rheingold Brewery. Beloved husband of the late Jean (d. 2013), devoted father of Philip Jr. (Maryann), Michael (Gai) Beverly and Paul, cherished grandfather of Michael, Larisa, Benjamin, Mathew, Sam and Jonathan, great grandfather of 5; loving brother of Elizabeth (Libby), predeceased by five siblings. To honor Philip’s life family will receive friends on Tuesday from 5 to 9 at Coxe and Graziano Funeral Home 767 East Boston Post Rd. where a prayer service will commence at on Wednesday at 11 am followed by interment at Greenwood Union Cemetery.

Carminda Pires, Minda to family and friends, passed away peacefully on February 4th, 2014 at the age of 89. Born on July 14th, 1924 in New Bedford, Mass., to Sebastian and Isabel Gonsalves, Minda married James Pires in 1946. She was a loving wife, and nurturing mother, devoted to making a better life for her sons Steven and Michael. She especially loved being surrounded by her grandchildren and great grandchildren. A seamstress, and lifelong member of the ILGWU, Minda enjoyed sewing and derived great pleasure in creating clothing and home fashions for family and friends. Minda is survived by her sons, Steven (Irene) of Bonita Springs, Fla. and Michael of New Rochelle and grandchildren Brian Pires and Lori Magnante (Chris) and great grandchildren Brandon Pires and Joseph and Minda Magnante. She was preceded in death by her husband James and her siblings, Anthony Gonsalves and Aida Valente.

Jenny A. Linsalato

Jenny Linsalato, of New Rochelle and formerly of Eastchester, passed away January 3, 2014. She was born May 11, 1919 to Francisco & Lucy Antico. On February 8, 1942, she married her beloved husband, Ronzo Linsalato. He predeceased her on September 2, 1976. Jenny was always surrounded by family. Her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren all lived in close proximity and she enjoyed them all. She enjoyed her family and all activities that involved them. She enjoyed walking outdoors and all of nature. She was very artistic in paints, ceramics, sewing and knitting. One of her paintings was sent to Albany in 2013 to be displayed in a seniors exhibit. Jenny loved the Lord Jesus and spent time reading His word regularly. She always had a love for life and enjoyed new adventures traveling with her friends to restorations, garage sales and out to lunch. She drove her own car into her nineties. She was a joy to all who experienced conversation and laughter with her. Jenny is survived by her devoted children, Denise Arborn (Barry) and Ronald Linsalato (Deborah DiSessa). She is the cherished grandmother of Regina (Eddy) Olson, Michael Arborn (Fortune Bellantoni), Angela Shaw and Elizabeth Linsalato and great grandmother of Taylor, Jordan and Dalton Olson, Michael, Lexi and Luke Arborn, and Bailey Shaw. Frank J. Scarano of New Rochelle passed away on December 27, 2013 surrounded by his loving family. He was 84. Frank was born in New Rochelle in 1929 to Joseph and Brigida (nee DiRoma) Scarano. Frank, a graduate of Iona College, was a CPA and proprietor of Frank J. Scarano & Co. He was a veteran of the US Army who served his country from 1953 to 56’. Former member of Leewood Golf Club in Eastchester, NY. Beloved husband of Janet (nee Veltri) cherished father of Joseph (wife Jane) of Chapel Hill, NC, Jayne Spiegel and Mary Jane (husband Anthony) Caglioti, dear brother to Pat (wife Priscilla) Scarano, devoted grandfather of Scott, Jake, Zachary, Zoe & Bridget and great grandfather of Julia, To honor Frank’s life family will receive friends on Monday from 2 to 4 & 7 to 9 at COXE & GRAZIANO FUNERAL HOME 767 East Boston Post Rd. Marcelle W. Peterka

Marcelle W. Peterka, of Mamaroneck died December 19, 2013. She was 101. Marcelle was born in Belgium and came to America in 1946. She was very active in her community as a member and past President of the Women’s Club, and an avid supporter of The Girl Scouts of America. Marcelle spoke four languages and was a volunteer French teacher in Mamaroneck school as well as a Sunday School Teacher at St. Thomas’ Episcopal Church. She was a world traveler. She is predeceased by her husband Adolph (d.1986), and survived by her daughter Christine Springer of Alexandria, Va. She is also survived by granddaughters Katherine Volin and Dr. Kimberley Springer and two great grandsons. To honor her life a memorial gathering will be held on Saturday December 28, 2013 from 11am to 1pm at COXE & GRAZIANO FUNERAL HOME 767 East Boston Post Rd. Mamaroneck. Memorial donations in lieu of flowers may be made to the Scholarship Fund of the Mamaroneck Women’s Club.
